 Do any of you fine gentleman know how open the case on a Shunyata Cyclops?
I would like to replace the duplex outlet with something a bit better, namely the top of the line offered by Furutech. Please note that I feel Shunyata makes very high quality stuff but just thought I would try to enhance what is already state of the art.

 Could you post pics of the underside? Their site shows all other views and I see nothing there.

Maybe six screws or so...Hopefully they did not use rivets...

 Drill out the rivets, if it has them. Use short sheet metal screws in place of the rivets.

Damp the inside surfaces and the overhead brace with 3m damping tape, or other suitable material.
You can also install an Audio Magic Pulse Gen, or their PEA devise, and a toggle switch to turn the devise on or off.
For the bottom; outside, you could use 1/2 inch Terastone, or 1 inch custom wood, cut to the bottom dimensions. This will take some extra work to fasten on to the bottom. Then put feet on the Terastone or wood.

 In my zeal to find out why a box offering two AC outlets from one input AC cord, and nothing else, and costing $1500 (from Music Direct), might need a better AC outlet, I took a look at the photo above. What are those two tubes doing? Are they providing a magnetic field around the wires or are they shields? Thanks.

 I think they are chambers filled with Shunyata's FeSi-1000, ZrCa-2000, or whatever "noise-reduction compound" they're currently using. I think they are bascially giant, glorified, ferrite rings (or ferrite-silver, or zirconium-calcium).

I have found it hard to permit myself to spend money on some of these products. Not that they don't work, but that they exemplify the astronomical markup in certain sectors of the industry these days.
