Modern interconnects are to large to fit on the outputs of my recently acquired Sherwood S-2200. Anyone run into this and have an adequate solution?
Thanks

For the upteenth time, I'll provide the solution to the closely spaced RCA females found on many vintage units.

Make your own cables using Mogami 2549 bulk twinax wire, either Neutrik/Rean NYS352G ("silver" barrel) or Neutrik/Rean NYS352BG (black barrel) RCA plugs on the tuner end, and Canare F-10 RCA plugs on the downstream end. The NYS352(B)G fits into the tightest of spots.

All items suggested can be bought from MarkerTek at nice prices.

Hi Doc,

Eli's approach works just fine but, if you're questioning the efficacy of the factory RCAs they are easy to replace. Parts Express can supply some small gold plated units that fit the hole of the removed OEM units. Then a new hole is added to provide the required clearance. Here's a couple of pics of an S3000IV & S3000V after replacement, the S3000s have the same issue.

That seems like a excellent fix. Appreciate the photos.

Radio Shack sells L-shaped RCA adapters. You can see them here and another variety at the link below. These are skinny; put them on the Sherwood then spread them apart to attach your modern cables. I used these on my tube Citation gear also.
