I have a Bogen FM 50 going to set up first clean those RCA jacks, then I am going to hook it up I know just use the Norm output to the preamp stay away from the multiplex so that means I only have to use one rca jack correct so far? Anyone use this tuner it is a 1956 model I believe and of course mono.

you need only use only one line-level "FM out" jack for mono, posted on March 3, 2014 at 10:45:39

There might be more than one :-) I don't know that particular model, but there could be two parallel outputs (both will still be resolutely monophonic) or perhaps a fixed level and variable level output. In either case, yeah you only need one.

As you surmise/imply, the MPX connector (I think it's the discriminator output) is upstream of the polished line-level output signal - it will be mis-equalized (for lack of a better word) as a result.
all the best,
mrh

Thanks that is what I was told dont use the multiplex it will effect the audio in a negative way just stick with the output marked NORM.
Should be interesting I have several nice sounding Bogen amps pair of 110's and a pair of DB 20s which I enjoy esp the 110's very sweet sounding.
