Sherwood 2200 stereo tube tuner alignment

I have acquired a vintage Sherwood tube tuner in really good shape.

I would like to get a professional alignment done before I put it into service.

Does anyone know of a reputable tech that preforms such work?

Please, no "if it sounds good just use it comments" as I like to KNOW my gear is tip top before using it.

 AA member Mike Samra's bench is up to the task of a proper sweep alignment. Don Sachs, who posts as dls123, may also be of assistance.

Test the tubes, before shipping the unit out. "Weak sisters" should be replaced, before alignment is done. Nearly all the tubes in a tuner impact on alignment. You don't want to pay twice, unnecessarily.

 Especially regarding the tubes.

Additionally, you don't mention if the tuner's been refurbished yet. Meaning, capacitors in the power supply, coupling caps in need of replacement, etc.

Some of the components in the RF stages can affect the alignment, and if you have to replace them after an alignment, you'll need to have it aligned again.

 try this 1st. its free. Might you be concerned of the cost of transport and alignment?

Had a 3000 tuner w/mpx. Mpx section was very noisy. Have a s8000 receiver. same problem. Bad transformer. No replacements.

You will know if the mpx is not working

 Of you mean the cans, they were made by Sherwood and not Miller sourced. Generally they do not go bad or have their slugs freeze up. Internally there is a cap and it may be the cause of hour problem. From other posters over the years they seem to easier to get into compared to the all but impossible to repair Miller and the caps can be replaced.
