I have seen many tube amps for sale and some say "cage included". What is a "cage" ? Is it a metal case that covers the whole amp or is it the slip on "tube covers / clamps" that were used in old guitar amps ? Sean

...cover. It usually slips over the entire top of the amplifier and not just the tubes. It's to protect the tubes from hazards like lil' children. Click the link below for an eye to eye view. On the left no cage and the right the same amplifier w/cage.
