My Cabasse's and a SET can it work?

We started this discussion a little earlier, that the cabasse farella 400's had a poor impedance curve to match to a 5 wpc SET amp. First of all does anyone know how low the impedance dips, I am afraid I cant find any information on their curve. Secondly, what would be a sufficient power range for them. Most 300b based amps are 7 to 9 watts, still not enough? Or maybe this speaker just aint meant for SET's, and should I look elsewhere. OTL's are out cause of impedance curves, so that leaves me with triodes, or a push pull like I have. I am currently using a set of Quicksilver mono's on them, and truth is they are alot of power for this speaker. I would sacrafice power for more transparency and focus. All your thoughts on this subject are greatly appreciated.

Cabasse's and SET's aren't a match made in Heaven. I'm afraid you will need to look towards pp's. OTL's are out of the question like you stated.

FWIW, I believe (if memory serves me right) that the Cabasse drops to about 2.8 ohms, BUT, it could well be even lower. Nominally, they are 4 ohm.

cheers

While the Cabasses are more sensitive than most speakers,
I think the impedence variance will get you here ... even
my Dunlavys present a friendlier load in that regard.

Did you say you had ordered the Zen?
Get your Goldring, yet?

Al told me you're mobile again. Congrats!
