Resistor as parafeed plate load?

Hi, I know I've seen this at least mentioned somewhere before, but I couldn't find it. So, are there reasons that using a resistor as the plate load in a parafeed output stage just flat out won't work? I was skimming through RDH4 last night and saw a little blurb using this setup. I realize it will drop a lot of voltage and will need a highish power resistor. Those two are not problems for me based on the parts I have sitting around. I also *think* I know it won't provide the same PSRR and constant current-like behavior the choke load does. However, the goal is being cheap and building a decent amp. Is there anything I haven't thought of or am just wrong about? Is it worth trying? Thanks for any thoughts, |

I thought it was where Rl = infinity. But I am unsure. Kurt |
