Dielectric absorption is 0%

Internal resistance is 92.6k

0 microamps of leakage.

Like the Solen, this cap reads 51.9uf and it's rated at 50uf.The Solen was a 51uf@630v where this puppy is shorter than the Solen, but you can see the cap is rated at 370vac, but is good to 750vdc all day long.I tested the cap at 630vdc so it would be the same as the Solen.

Hey,

How does the sencore do the dielectric absorption test? As I understand it, the DA number is a moving target and is the comparison of the charge going into the dielectric at two predefined periods of time.

This test procedure is outlined in the instruction manual of my genrad 1644 megohm resistance bridge and reading of 0 seems like an unlikely result to me.

Mikey,

I have nine of those CSC caps, at 100 uF. +/- 6% at 370 VAC.

Part number 325107H37P46N4X.

If you want them, they are yours for shipping cost.

Respond within 24 hours please. If you don't want them, whoever notifies me first may have them for shipping. Eight have cap clamps. Five never used.

I listened to Dynami E 4.0 uF at 425 film caps this past week, and it has ruined - positively spoiled me, BUT GOOD and forever. Wow, what a performer. Incredible and great.

NEVER heard any cap do what that 4.0 does. If you want the BEST in a 4.0 ( parallel them for more uF ), thats it.

I have a bunch of the 100s that I haven't used but thanks for thinking of me.I used them in Allen amps where they have lots of room but I like the Solens because I don't have to make the connector hole larger to accommodate them..I did use them in my AES/CARY SET amps but I was only able to fit the 80s in which is more than enough.

"The way the DA test is done is by holding the DA button down as the cap cycles thru the charge and discharge a few times into an internal load and then the computer samples and analyzes it.I didn't read it thoroughly, but that's a general idea of it.

"Internal resistance" is really leakage resistance. Interesting that it's as low as 92K but not indicating and leakage current!

Never heard of a DYNAMI E cap - where do you find them, posted on July 27, 2016 at 06:04:32

Is this a Moncreif product, only thing that comes to mind.

and see it is one of PM's caps.

Very expensive in small values ...

They are made in small batches, posted on July 27, 2016 at 07:20:15
I remember waiting for some 0.1mfd/425VDC to be batched a few years ago. Not sure, if these value is still available.

Rick,

The 4.0 uF Dynami Cap E is CHEAP, IMHO, on the basis of cost versus performance. It is probably the world's best sound 4 uF cap !!! Made right in the USA by the premiere cap manufacturer, REL cap !!!

When I THINK of all the money I have spent, on Russian film caps, and all the TIME I have spent NOT having these 4.0s in my gear, it makes me quake !! What a waste of my time and money.

If the 4.0 uF sold for $200 each, it would be worth it on a PERFORMANCE basis, once you A-B it on a high quality high-efficiency speaker system !!

Best wishes to you,

Jeff Medwin

I have been using the Russian paper/oils for the 500 hz high pass and not having compared them to much else I have been satisfied.

I will get some and hear what I think.

Best part of DIY is you get to change the sound of your system for very little money and sometimes a change, even if horizontal, is welcomed.

I suspect this will give a good vertical component, also!

Take care,

'just read this !!

Man, I actually tried Russian MBGOs last week in my A-Bing, 4.0 uF and the Dynami e 4.0S smoked THEM MBGOs BIG TIME, IN MANY music PARAMETERS THAT MADE IT FUN TO HEAR, AND NECESSARY TO USE !!
