As Alpha Al said, there may be a few audio tubes, and probably several of odd heater voltages.

One caveat: Often used tubes were put into the boxes on switching out onsite at the customers' homes. No guarantee that these are NOS. It depends on how conscientious they were on tossing the pulls. Not saying they weren't careful, just that a buyer may not be certain they are all new old stock.

Nothing wrong with odd heater voltages if one is designing from scratch!

For a start, I only use 4P1L tubes in my audio system, and I have 150 so job done there. I do use rectifiers and glow tubes in addition, and I have 12AX7s and 6L6/6V6 in my stage amps but that's it really.

The idea of bringing boxes of old tubes into my house is the kind of thing I'd wake up screaming from a nightmare over. Did too much of that once, and I'm still trying to get rid of what I don't want years later.

I can see the point of having a small stash of "likely" tubes, but for the rest they are simply o-b-s-o-l-e-t-e..... They may look nice and have nice memories but that's far from enough.
