I just cannot find a recommendation in the database, my normal source of experience..

I need to replace two 2200uf 350V capacitors in a valve power amplifier. With the cost I must get this right first time. Typically I use Panasonic ED, EE etc in the power supplies but they are much lower voltage.

Is there a manufacturer you prefer in this range. Currently looking at high ripple current options with screw terminals.

This is a class A push pull using 4 EL509s plus 12AU7 and 12BH7 tubes. Current caps mix Panasonic, Elna and Nichicon.

Panasonic and Nichicon are my go to brands and I look for 105o C. rated parts. Unfortunately, the only thing Mouser can get you "quickly" that I would trust is by CDE and they are 85o C. rated parts that cost almost $95 each. ;>( At least the part is rated for 7.2 A. of ripple current.

SSN has two that might work for you. If either is the correct package size, I suggest that you contact them first and ask about age and condition. It's a surplus house, they're not in the boutique parts business.

What diameter and length are the ones that are in there now?

Can you fit a choke and decrease the cap values? (nt), posted on February 7, 2016 at 00:50:28

That is a hard mF value to find. I went through the same thing looking for two to redo my AR9s. I gave up and asked Jim McShane to put together a cap kit for the crossovers.

The current Capacitors are 50 mm, 118 mm. I have limited room so I cannot exceed length and would prefer to use current brackets mounted for 5mm.

Nice prices. The 2200uf might be too large for the area but I will check. Good to have this site linked.

This is probably your best choice. They will fit right in and work, ripple current won't be an issue, nor will the extra 50V in the voltage rating.

I looked at stuffing a can with 4 x 560uf and while this will be half the price with some ESR advantages I will try to keep this amp standard.

This designer kept tweaking so while his amps sound incredible, with the point to point and soldered in caps plus limited paper schematics, they scare the average tube repair shops. If I play I will probably electrocute myself.

valvesonly, Have you ever directly compared the Panasonic EE to the ED? Tweaker
