this faceplate made out of wood? I know this has nothing to do with tubes but it is DIY. I had this made a few years back from someone and I can't remember who.

Thanks!

You already have a template (the metal top plate) and probably own an electric drill.

Home Depot sells 1/4" Walnut plywood with quite nice veneer in 24"x24" pieces at an attractive price.

The three hole saws required with their arbor will cost about $50.

The difference between one who works wood and one who professes a lack of woodworking skills isn't talent, it's desire.

That piece will have to be cut from solid wood unless he wants to glue up two or three thicknesses of the 1/4" stuff, then veneer the exposed edges after it's cut and shaped. Definitely not worth the trouble IMO. Even just cutting it to the shape shown will require a router with a template or a CNC machine. Otherwise, it will be difficult to make the radius at all four corners match.

Xaudiomanx, if someone could cut the wood, are you able to finish it? I'm thinking you might find a local cabinet maker who would take it on if you're not in a hurry. I have the tools for this sort of thing, but I require face-to-face conversation and beverages. :)

I took it to mean he wants to make the face plate=top plate in wood. Duplicating the wooden chassis is an altogether different task.

Let's ask the OP which it is ;-)

that's a complete surround done in wood, which with the top-plate makes a chassis. Did you want only a faceplate? That's much easier to do. I had a pro carpenter make a surround much like the one shown in the photo, to match the dimensions of my top plate, once upon a time.

So it is. The color of the chair fabric on the left side threw me off.

Cut a 4/4 piece of Walnut to size, shape the arcs, then router with a bottom bearing, 45 degree chamfer bit. An hour.

Look closely at the right side of the amp and you will see that you were fooled, as I was, by the color of the chair cushion on the left.

The chassis is powder coated in a black wrinkle type finish. It is 1/4 aluminum. I have about 10 of these chassis.

As mentioned, it would be a piece of cake for a cabinet guy, they probably have a scrap of walnut they have been saving for just a project.

I adds a nice touch to your project.

in your attached photo. Which I think is to give an idea of what you are seeking, not what you already have. Amioutalone has pointed out that the wood piece in the photo is a faceplate, not a "surround" in fact. Sorry for any confusion.

Those aren't output transformers. They are the LCR RIAA modules from Stephens and Billings. The other components are UTC chokes. It is a Thorsten Loesch circuit phono preamp.
