IR diode

I need about 1.3 volt drop to bias a 6SL7 so the IR diode seems ideal. I just can't figure out if 1ma current will work despite having spent some time looking at LED data sheets. TIA for any help in clarifying this.

Instead of a LED, which may not function well passing only 1 mA., use a small NiMH cell. Charge the cell up before installing it in the project. Regular use keeps the cell fully charged. The 1 mA. of plate current is a nice trickle charge.
