Has anyone experimented with this tube?

Any info would be appreciated - thanks.

Or just offer it as a tube in one of their products?

First they came for the dumb-asses

The tube is only available for use in Ayon amplifiers.

If you own an AA 62B amplifier and need to replace a tube, they cost $1,600 each.

I don't know about their claim to size. A Chinese 805 can likely dissipate more power on its plate and make more power in an amplifier.

833's are also very available...

What about the KR T1610?

Built to replace the WE308B for the Cary amplifiers.

It doesn't get anywhere near the WE308B specs but it does out do the AA62B.

Hmm, I think you might be pushing it on the whole "single plate" thing.

I was attracted by the Ayon AA 62B's R(p) of 470 ohms.
But, they are unavailable for DIY; and, even if you own an Ayon 62B amp, replacement tubes are $1,600 each!

At that price, I'll stick with GM70s.

The T1610 is literally two 300BXLS stacked in one bottle.

Pretty sure this is an Alesa Vaic design/implementation. He's worked with them for a long time in the past. My guess is he still has a hand in this somehow. I am sure if you could connect with the right people you could get these directly from whomever makes them, not via Ayon, and at a more reasonable price. I would be skeptical on the Rp, but maybe it is that low!

Thanks for the info, Ed.
I'd suspected Alesa Vaic may be involved.
