I was wondering whether its possible to record to both sides of a tape, using only one record head. Is there special tape that is meant to do this or could you make the head print through to the other side?
Of course even if it was possible the quality difference would need to remain very small.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks!

No, it is not possible. The oxide, (the layer the head records to), is only on one side of the tape.
