Hi,

Need some help from members who are f amiliar with the Nagra ivs recorder.
There are 4 red wires behind the left mic input socket. One has come loose and I need to solder it back, not sure where it goes.
The other 3 wires are connected as follows:-

1)signal +
2)to metal part that screws on to chassis
3)soldered under the chassic.
4)loose

Any comments/help would be appreciated.

Rgds,

Sorry I don't have an answer, other than to say I briefly worked with a IV back in the day.

I suggest you contact the Kudelski Group (Nagra-Kudelski) at info@nagra.com in Cheseaux, Switzerland. They'll not only answer your question, but probably also send you a photo or schematic. You should include a GOOD photo of the problematic area of the machine with your question.

Hope this helps.

:)

Hi,
That will be my next course of action. Thanks for
the contact details. Here is a pic of the problem
area.
Many Thanks

Yes, very good!

Although, I only see two red wires, and it would be helpful if the markings were not upside-down.

Take another pic with a bit larger area, and send it to them. They'll have the answer.

I'm familiar with the Swiss people in general, and they're very nice, so don't be afraid to contact them. Although, you WILL need to be coherent and 'to the point'.

:)

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I've managed to find the
other end of the wire. Will get the pictures to
Nagra. Should be a piece of cake to diagnose.
Just hope it's an easy fix. It's pretty tight in these
machines.
Cheers
