This one sounds real, like I can reach out into the room with the musicians. Is this one from 1968? There is no year on the box.

All's I know is that Urbie Green is a fine bone-ist. One of the best!

I just discovered Urbie on this reel. Back in 1996 a friend sold me his Teac X20R and along came about 40 reels with lots of 60's contemporary and Classical.

There is one I am always looking for and that is music by Les Elgar. Any recommendations?

Les Elgart (with a t at the end) recorded for Columbia. I think I may have one or more of his albums somewhere in my R2R collection in the storage room.

Yes it is from about 68. There is another album he did as well with the trombone choir. Saw him 2 times. A brilliant player.

If you look at the list of players it is like a who's who of trombone players. JJ and Kai, Alan Raph, etc.

I have the LP. you are lucky to have a tape. My trombone teacher told me about it. You have some of the best trombonists ever all in one place.
