You are having intermittant issues with slow page loading. For example, clicking on the New Thread button took 20 seconds to show the new page, despite a high speed internet connection. These issues seem to come and go.
Yesterday I posted the same thing and later on when I checked the speed was okay so I deleted my post. Is there a chance we could get uniform speeds sometime?

Seriously.

We've fought spammers and the like for years and have gotten pretty good at it. However, from time to time, we get almost a denial of service type situation where a few IPs are putting in 100s or requests per second. They end up grabbing all the server processes keeping anyone else out and slowing everything down.

The only way to solve the problem is to update routing/firewall rules to block those IP groups. I need to look into some hardware that can do this automatically and yet not block the good guys. Google always has a bunch of requests going too, so they'd look like one of the bad guys if this isn't done properly.

Sounds like you need a DNS filter but for IP addresses.

Good luck, why not take a nap, you'll feel better :-)
