Coventional (transformer coupled) push pull tube amps in general work very well with the VSM-MXs... now all push pull tube amps are not equal, depending on feedback and mode of operation (triode, ultralinear, or pentode) peerformance can vary widely. Bobby's standard reccomendation for amplifiers applies here, tube amps that are not very damped will work best... the more uniform the amp is in character top to bottom, the better the results. What this translates to is amps that are generally have low or no feedback. VSM-MXs do not need boatloads of power (becuase of thier effecincy and easy load), so 100 plus w/ch tube amps are generally unnecessary. Some examples I have personally heard that worked quite well: - CAT JL1 triode stereo amp - Manley Stingray - Ars Sonum Filarmonia - Rogue M120 monoblocks there are many more that I am probably forgetting...
