Look at the write-ups for the two sweep tube SETs he makes: SE-32P and MA44-SE. Is anyone familiar with this approach (although there isn't much to go on).

McAlister Audio is an enigma. His products get both high praise and terrible reviews. I bought a PP amp from him. The workmanship and parts were not good, but after it was re-wired, some parts changed, transformers isolated, etc., it sounded really good and still does.

I don't see anything new here. Parallel single ended amps, with SRPP/Mu follower driver. I do like that he appears to be using a pentode as a CCS in some designs. I don't like that he says that he has a single ended amp with no capacitors in the signal path (the power supply caps sure are!).

One of these has been for sale locally for a while, and I've meant to go and have a listen!

As I said, once my PP amp was overhauled, it has continued to sound really nice. I was quite surprised given that it arrived with the wrong power tube sockets, a number of bad solder joints, wobbly power supply transformers - one for each channel - and a filament supply with the under-rated diodes that were turning brown, plus el cheapo parts a plenty and rats nest point to point wiring.

If you do listen, see if the seller will allow you to look at the OPTs. They are hand-made, and mine look like they were made by a 6-year old. However, they work like a charm. I didn't touch them, except for the secondary leads which looked like they hadn't even been soldered in place.

I've had to re-build several of his pieces. The latest is on my website.
They sound fine once they work, but the build is terrible.

I had the exact same experience...and result with a PP amp he made for me.
