My "speaker match" post has been at the top of the pile for almost two weeks. No doubt in my mind a person is better off posting on Tube/DIY if you can call it a diy problem by any stretch of the imagination.

Killed it with a 'speaker post'.

First they came for the dumb-asses
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass

The best one is Tube DIY, or at least it was.

I agree, but I guess some people think you need a forum for SET that wasn't diy. Judging from the number of posts though it doesn't seem like it's needed that much.

As best I can remember, the split happened long before Jeff was active. The DIY enthusiasts were annoyed by the people who bought commercial amps instead of building their own, but I think there was a subtext of PP vs. SET going on as well.

This left the DIY SETs in TubeDIY. For most of the time since, this forum has shown "better social skills" so many SET DIY people have also migrated over here. Those who don't DIY are still interested in technical topics, so that has worked well enough - at least we don't have the SET vs PP issues in either place very often any more.

I go back and forth, depending on the level of civility ... :^) I don't see many non-DIY push-pull fans in either forum, not sure where they hang out.
