I got my hands on ver. 1 Paramours that have to be re-built. I called Bottlehead asking about the availability of old version of C4S boards and the person on the phone was not able to assist.
Are those C4S boards still available and how could I get them?
Also what are the PS choke parameters that replaces 270ohm resistor between C1 and C2?

Thanks

Don

I purchased the OT/C4S upgrade package for the Paramours years ago, but upon opening the package just now (after reading your post) the C4S boards/diodes are not in the box.

It's possible that they were shipped in a second package that may be here somewhere (if you strike out send me a PM me and I will look for it - though it may take a few weeks).

I can't work on my Bottlehead gear anymore due to fine vision problems and the current work quotes (based upon assembling a Stereomour from scratch/kit) are more than I am willing to pay.

Edit:

Seems the BH Forums went down for maintenance shortly after I posted the link.

The link was to a thread about Voltsecond's website being reinstated following technical problems (it's a great site regarding BH building & tweaks).

Hopefully Paul Joppa (BH designer) will see your post and respond as he has always been helpful to SET users whether they be BH users or not.

Best bet is to ask at the Bottlehead forum (link below)- at the bottom of the "Bottlehead Kits" section there is a forum for "Legacy Products". That amp was my first product design for Bottlehead and I remain very fond of it - I and others will help you out!

The original boards are long gone; the current boards are version 4.4 - but they have the same circuit and are available.

The choke most often used was rated 10 henries at 90mA, with 270 ohms DC resistance. A currently available example is the Triad C7-X which is I believe carried by Allied - I think it is currently made by Hammond. Similar chokes are widely available, I would take anything from 150 to 500 ohms, and 10-15 henries, rated 60mADC or greater.

Thank you, Paul, for your answers.

I spoke to Eileen on the phone and she is sending me CCS boards from Paramour II with instructions. I probably will use another C-7x choke for PS.

Kind regards,

D.
