Dropping 11/18, sounding pretty good to me, best effort in a long time.

Me as well- Mr Peabody.

Man, these guys are getting older. It will be good to hear a new album
from one of the fantastic 4.

They look tired, burnt out, and out of ideas. The fire left long ago. Hetfield's voice is irritating as ever. There are numerous great new metal bands out there that will earn my dollar instead of this.

Ah, don't be a hater, LOL If you liked Metallica and have an open mind the new stuff is pretty good.

Some of the new bands are good, I really liked the last Nothing More.

Any band worth their "salt" would thrive to be in a position like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer & Anthrax.

Metallica new album Hardwired is a double album. I streamed it to give the entire thing a listen before buying, I like both discs a lot. I think those who listen and give it a chance will be nicely surprised.

If you haven't heard them, as a Metallica fan you should as they heavily influenced their music, and Breadfan is a cover of one of their songs, Budgie. One of the first heavy metal bands many of today's hard rockers give credit to as their influence, Breadfan can be found on Budgie's "Never Turn Your Back on a Friend".

Thanks. I have two Budgie LP's, one I believe is their first album, I like it a lot, the other is a later LP, the one with Sky High..... something, it's alright but not as good as the earlier LP IMO. Sky High is sort of a local Rock radio classic in my area.

I like and check out all the decades of Rock, Bachman Turner Overdrive had a great heavy sound, love the album Not Fragile. Nazareth is another band almost forgotten and under rated.

My $.02. I am a bit of a metalphile of late. Oddly much more into metal in my late 30's and early 40's then I was in my teens.

I've streamed it like I do a lot of bands I'm checking out before I buy. I will likely buy it but I'm not jumping at the bit. To me there isn't anything new going on in this. Of all the albums post Justice, I liked Death Magnetic but not the production.

I can think of lot of 2016 metal releases that were way more interesting to me at least. If you don't mind a bit of cross-posting from another forum, here is my picks for amazing 2016 metal releases:

Dark Tranquillity -Atoma
Be'lakor -Vessels
Insomnium -Winter's Gate
Meshuggah -The Violent Sleep of Reason
Devin Townsend Project -Transcendence
Vektor -Terminal Redux
Fallujah -Dreamless
Ancients -Voice of the Void
Allegaeon -Proponent for Sentience
Amon Amarth -Jomsviking

Allegaeon has a couple tracks that I would use as reference test tracks. Vektor's album might be my overall pick for best of even though I'm highly biased in favor of Be'lakor's since they are one of my favorite bands right now (Gojira being another).

Some other very solid albums that are worth mentioning but didn't make the above list due in part to 1) me not having enough time with the album, 2) not quite being metal (Opeth/Katatonia), or 3) I really like it but don't love it like those above.

Exmortus -Ride Forth
Obscura -Akr

there must be other bands to take the helm and carry on, once the Big 4, steps down someday.
