30 years ago, one of our favorite albums was Queensryche's Rage For Order. During that Fall '86 semester, as a high school sophomore, I still hadn't had any girlfriends. If any of my female schoolmates says otherwise, she's either mistaken or lying. Geez, that sounds like Trump...

Anyway, the breakup song, "The Killing Words" was so powerful, it made us feel as though we were breaking up, even though none of us was in a relationship.

Now, I've seen Queensryche several times, and the only time they'd break out the acoustic guitars was on "Silent Lucidity." Apparently, during the 90s, on account of MTV Unplugged, Queensryche incorporated more acoustical numbers. One song which lends itself nicely to this format is "The Killing Words."

When Queensryche remastered Rage For Order in 2003, they included four bonus tracks, including a superb acoustic live version of "The Killing Words," recorded 10/20/1994, a London's Astoria Theatre.

Now, the mid-2000s was when I, through you guys and other audiophile acquaintances, started reviewing hundreds of thousands of dollars of audio products. A favorite of those audiophiles who were feeding me all that merchandise was "The Killing Words (Live)."

Hint: for the best sonics of this "The Killing Words (Live)," get the remastered Rage For Order on SHM-CD.
