Since the mid-90s, when audiophiles met in person (for example, at stores, shows, and parties), rather than online, a steady stream has always demanded thrash metal. On a daily basis, some of YOU keep asking me for more thrash.

Yeah, yeah, as some of you keep reminding me, I was "lucky" to be a teenager in San Francisco, during the late 80s. In the summer of 1988, my schoolmates and I learned about Bay Area thrash band, Vio-lence. We'd initially see them at The Stone, then located on Broadway near Montgomery. Since we were underage, for the 2-drink minimum, we had to get soda or juice. Nowadays, soft drinks are about to be taxed.

At the S.F. club scene, Vio-lence fit in with bands like Death Angel, Forbidden, and Laaz Rockit.

Initially, we bought albums on cassette, not CD. But hey, cassettes worked well, in our Walkmen and boomboxes. It was a lot of fun, to bang shoulders with 3 or 4 of your friends, to "Phobophobia," which features some infectious and classic riffs. Now, if you can only get 3 or 4 of your audiophile friends together...
