This is from Joe Satriani's eponymous album, which came out in time for Holidays 1995. It's a slower, more bluesy album. It was perfect for sunny, laidback weekends, especially at Oakland's Eastshore Park. My gut feeling is that this album wasn't as popular, because fans were used to Satriani's more jazz-fusion leanings. In the post-grunge era, people weren't really receptive to blues-rock. Which is too bad, because the songs on the eponymous Joe Satriani album are well-played. During the 95-96 season, I bowled league at San Francisco's Japantown Bowl. We had squads, which went to tournaments and travel leagues. During those excursions, I commonly had pockets of down time. The Joe Satriani CD was perfect to keep me and ACS, my gf and bowling partner, from getting antsy, bored, restless, or over-amped. One sunny afternoon, she and I were stuck on southbound I-80 in Albany/Berkeley/Emeryville. Joe Satriani's "Home" made us forget about the traffic, made us happy to be back home in the Bay Area. -Lummy The Loch Monster
