as I was just listening to Davey Graham who, arguably, had a huge influence of JR playing style and methods. Not just Renbourn either, he had a definite influence upon other fingerpickers such as Bert Jansch, Wizz Jones, John Renbourn, Martin Carthy, John Martyn, Paul Simon and Jimmy Page.
He pioneered the use of DADGAD tuning, later widely adopted by acoustic guitarists. His most popular tune was Anji, here for your pleasure....

I can definitely hear Renbourn being heavily influenced. I saw him a couple times in his later years at a local club with 50 people. Just John and his acoustic guitar. Bob Crump was going to drive up for a visit and concert but canceled out. Hell of a drive from Houston.
