...came from Garth Brooks IMO. His 1980's shows were full of lighting effects, fire, and lots of guitar driven rock. Take a look at the live country landscape before and then after.

We saw many of the named artists (and un named, as is, where the f*** was the semi recently departed Rusty Weir????) back in the day, all I can say is they were raw, hungry, and creative as all get out and originals in a genre (nominally country) that seemed to disdain originality. No stage effects or explosions needed, them boys had energy to spare.
