Which release do you prefer? The Steve Hoffman DCC or the Doug Sax Analogue Productions Hybrid SACD (although I'd only access the Redbook layer of this one)? Have you heard both? I have a 1999 release and the 40th Anniversay 2-disc set but am still searching for better audio quality (re: more vinyl-like sound).

The Analogue Productions album to be sure. I have both and it's my feeling that Analogue Production albums will soon attain the status accorded MFSL recordings of yore. So far they have been that good. If you haven't got any get 'em.

Thanks for the recommendation!, posted on July 2, 2015 at 06:03:48

I have a few AP already, and yes, they are very good.

I have a German CD of LA Woman made around 2000? Sounds great but I can only compare it to the Rhino reissue LP. The LP is killer.
Late last night on Smithsonian channel I watched a documentary of the making of LA Woman.
Ray John and Robby I think did the thing, anyway it was very interesting. It was clear they loved making music as a team and loved Jim while accepting his many faults.
One of the very best LP's I have ever owned.

I'm curious about the new 40th anniversary 45RPM

Hi Mossback,
I actually pursued that specific copy based on a review I'd read. I found it on swapacd.com so requested it. Unfortunately, the provider's version listed was not really the one from Germany (I did not get screwed on this trade as I was able to quickly swap it out to another person, of course, after listing it's proper origin) so I never was able hear that version.
Thanks for posting.
