Lovely indeed. I first encountered her in 1972 at a great small club outside Philly called The Main Point. I've been a fan since. All early Steeleye Span is a happy memory for me. I also loved her efforts with June Tabor. Their voices combined to great effect.

who was in the early versions of SS, left and then came back to rejoin them.
Her hubby, Terry Woods is a well known artist in his own right.
The years she was in and the albums she was on with Maddy are listed at the link. Here is one of the songs where the two ladies voices soar and wrap around each other...fine fine stuff. It is also a great song about the lengths that the religious intolerant will go to punish the non believers. This ...of course...the middle ages...but...Short verbal intro then this great tune.

She and Maddy did a couple albums calling themselves Silly Sisters. I also Like June Tabor with the Oyster Band. I'll check out Gay Woods.

Silly Sisters, yep, I have 'em. I misread your post and though you were saying June sang with SS...
Gay & her hubby have a couple of albums too...I like them.
