I've just returned from seeing Renaissance at a local venue. Since 1977 I've waited for this evening. It was worth the wait ...she's still angelic.

Thanks for that memory. Haven't seen her since 1977.

She is magnificent! She, Sarah MacLachlan, and Natalie Merchant are simply glorious - we are so lucky to have them in our lifetimes...

I have always liked her voice. One of my favorites is 'Mother Russia.'

...most of the crowd was requesting were Mother Russia and Ashes are Burning. They played both. Ashes was the encore. They played a few songs from the new album, all of which were very true to the Renaissance sound. Had Annie not said they were new, I would have thought them old songs I was not familiar with.

Annie did quite a bit of chatting with the crowd, a benefit of an intimate venue. She's very personable and has a good sense of humor.

I am spoiled silly to have such a marvelous venue just two minutes from home. A beautiful, good sounding, 500 seat theater that attracts quality bands. Buddy Guy, Charlie Daniels, Steve Hackett, Roger Hodgson, Ian Anderson and Robin Trower are all coming soon. I'd liked to have seen Trower, but it sold out before I knew about it.

When I was at Florida Atlantic University in 1974, my girlfriend was on the entertainment committee and got me a day job as a stage hand for the Renaissance concert.

After the sound check she walked off the stage out into the audience section to look at the stage. She then needed a hand to climb back up on the stage. I helped her back up. My only touching of a rock star.

I'm still thrilled.

I met her at Nearfest a few years ago. Such a sweetheart.

The band is getting better and better. I was a little concerned about the new guitarist - he is similar to Mickey, but he stayed in the background. As part of the encore Mary Fall (October Project), duetted with Annie. Her huskier voice was a good counterpoint to Annie's lighter timbre.

All Stewart opened the show. I forgot how good of an entertainer he is.

She also took part on an album called 'Intergalactic Touring Band', which prompted me to buy it. Its available again on Amazon.
