-----------------------------------------------
Tedeschi Trucks Band @ Talking Stick Ballroom. I've seen this band twice - this time was better than the first. Not sure if these are my two favorite shows of all time. I really like these guys.

-----------------------------------------------
Rich Robinson @ The Rhythm Room. Great rockin jam band - the harder side of the Black Crowes.

-----------------------------------------------
Nick Waterhouse @ The Crescent Ballroom. What a blast - another great show. R&B fans rejoice!

-----------------------------------------------
Kenny Wayne Sheppard @ Talking Stick Resort Showroom. Great show in the most comfy venue.

-----------------------------------------------
Jacob Moon @ The Musical Instrument Museum. A wonderful singer/songwriter singing his own songs and his takes on some progressive tunes (yes and rush in particular).

-----------------------------------------------
Head And the Heart @ The Marquee - A great show. In the same vein as Blind Pilot, the Lumineers and Edward Sharpe.

-----------------------------------------------
Chris Robinson Brotherhood @ The Pressroom - his psychedelic spin on the Black Crowes. Awesome!

Nice photos! How was that KWS concert?, posted on August 14, 2014 at 17:50:53
The last few I've seen, he's been getting back to more basic Blues. Which is a good thing, IMHO.

Great show. Saw him a year or so ago at The Marquee. They did a blistering version of Search and Destroy and they credited it to Stevie Ray Vaughn. Thought that was kind of weird seeing how the Stooges did that cut back in the 60s. I figure maybe these guys never heard of the Stooges. Another thing no mention of Johnny Winter. All in all a very good show.

KWS's wife (Mel Gibson's daughter btw) and kids shared the stage for much of the show

Great photos. Thanks. I had stopped going to big venue concerts back in the late 1980's. I couldn't resist one last week. Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Steve Winwood opened. It was a amazing show. Sound systems have sure come a long way in terms of clarity. I was put off by fellow goers taking selfies and talking during Winwood's set. I suppose that is to be expected when you cram 10,000 people together. I still go to a number of smaller venue shows every year as well.

What's a smaller venue?, posted on August 15, 2014 at 13:45:11
The concerts in my photos had between 150 and 1600 in attendance. I met a gal who refused to bother with any of the "small venues" I like to attend! Rarely do we get into the arena's and/or stadium kind of deals - we're too old for that kind of hassle.

That is why I have banned myself from the large venue concerts for so long. I attend those that are from 10 to 1500. Most are less than 100.

I stopped going to larger venues because it was too loud and you couldn't walk out without blowing your investment.

Surprised that Tom Petty could draw 10,000 but I guess you're never really too old to rock and roll - contra Chuck Berry's youthful claim in one of his songs.

How loud was it?

No I don't expect a Carson- Ed McMahon response (-:
It's never too late to turn back the clock.
