For no particular reason I put on Zep's reunion Blu Ray last night, Celebration Day. Didn't make it too far into it - production was so haphazard and distracting it was hard to watch. Too much 'effects". I did make it thru Ramble On, which reminded me of Plant's Band of Joy version. This may be the best band he's ever been in.

...BOJ to Led Zep.

Buddy Miller vs Jimmy Page...uhh, which one is better?

Maybe Buddy plus Patti Griffin equals Jimmy.

Nice alternative take on the song, though.

The best looking band for sure. I mean like who doesn't like Patty in her F-me boots?, posted on July 30, 2014 at 19:16:22
Kind of silly having just listened to Celebration Day vinyl I thought it was mostly excellent.

Not that Band Of Joy isn't a great band unfortunately for not Robert Plant far fewer would have heard of them.

But being a fan of all three of them, PG, BM and RP there's not a doubt in my mind that their best work was and will continue to be outside the Band Of Joy.

No doubt the vinyl is excellent, my disappointment was with the Blu-Ray and the video production - way to distracting. I respect your opinion and only add that we saw Robert with BOJ and their takes on LZ songs (6?) were more complex and musically pleasing than the originals, imho. But I was a Stones fan at the time.

I've been watching those BOJ videos - very awesome indeed. I like the takes for sure. I love to hear great covers and these are some for sure.

I really like all three of the artists especially Patty. My favorite Buddy stuff is when he was with Julie but he's done lots of really great stuff.

Yea I admit to being a LZ from way back when. I kick myself for missing BOJ when they came here - I have no idea of what I was thinking.

Thanks for the links!
