Here's a Speaker/Listener placement optimization as plotted by CARA 2.1 PLUS for my room and speakers. (I added the measurements with tools in the viewer program.)

The blue and green boxes are areas you define as acceptable regions for speakers and listener.

Before you treat the room or equalize, you must optimize placement, and CARA software may well be the best way to do it. CARA can even take into account the room treatments themselves as you evolve the listening environment.

It is well worth the effort to required to learn the program and the low $49 cost. This is sophisticated software that could analyze the acoustics of an Olympic stadium or Carnegie Hall.

Good support on the Rhintek forum and European site.

that CARA often recommends a setup with some asymmetry. This is often difficult to conjure intuitively but can be quite effective.

As per the recommendation of a fellow asylee, I bought a CARA software 2 days ago. I am unable to understand how to use it. After I select my speaker setting(stereo) I can go no further !

Who can help me, please ? I tried the company's website, not much of help to me !!! Looks like I have just wasted the money- as being unable to utilize it !

Thanks !

Stick with it. The learning curve is VERY steep if you
aren't used to cad, and computers in general. The help
and information sections in CARA should give you the
help you need.

I'm not sure anyone can help given the limited information
you've provided. Stick with it, it CARA is a wonderful
product!!!!!

1. There's lots of help built in.
2. The website has a forum.
3. You need to model the room with CARA-CAD first. A "Quick Access to CARA" screen will pop up.
4. The learning curve is steep but worth it.

If you have a friend that is an engineer, ask him for help. It is similar to some CAD programs they use and they can often help you figure it out.
