My left speaker being by the hallway was in my condo. I sold my condo and bought a house about 1 1/2 years ago and custom built a room with dedicated electrical service, sound insulation in the ceiling and walls, etc.
My new room has 45° cut offs at both rear corners as I stole 2 1/2 feet from the bordering kitchenette (now exercise room) and I needed an angled wall to get there still. The front of the room is a straight rectangle with no corners, openings, etc.
