I've been grappling with an issue ever since I purchased a pair of Kef X300A wireless speakers...

I use Spotify for most of my digital music, which works great if I connect my laptop directly to the Kefs via USB. However if I want to go wireless, KEF says I need a wifi router that supports DLNA in order to stream Spotify. Has anyone had experience setting up a DLNA router to stream Spotify wirelessly to a DAC?

I have a PC and installed Stream What You Hear (SWYH) which streams what the sound card hears to DLNA devices, but audio quality is simply awful.

Install AirFoil ($29) or TuneBlade ($10) on your PC, either of which will allow streaming to the KEFs using AirPlay.

Both offer a free trial period, so you can assess whether the sound quality is good enough prior to forking over $$.

Also make sure you have enabled high-quality streaming in the Spotify settings tab.

One other suggestion to get CD sound quality wirelessly to your KEFs - subscribe to Tidal and Roon. Tidal has a nice interface in Roon and Roon automatically recognizes AirPlay-enabled devices as endpoints.
