I use i-tunes with Amarra to listen to ripped redbook files on a MacBook Air. This is connected to a SimAudio Moon DAC via USB. The other day my computer did an automatic upgrade of i-tunes. Now I can't up sample to 352.8 the way I could before. When I go to MIDI set up and go to 352.8 it changes back to 44.1 when the music starts.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way around it? I have a few HiRes files. They won't up sample either. I liked the sound better before the update. Is there a way to undo the update. I can still up sample Tidal, just not i-tunes files. Thanks in advance.

The other day my computer did an automatic upgrade of i-tunes.

I highly recommend disabling automatic updates.

System Preferences > App Store >

Choose whatever options above to suit your needs. This is from my work Mac.

When I go to MIDI set up and go to 352.8 it changes back to 44.1 when the music starts.

Are you sure Amarra is running? Seems like Amarra isn't doing what it's supposed to. Amarra takes care of automatic sample rate switching, iTunes will not. Most players perform automatic sample rate switching and in most cases you shouldn't have to deal with Audio MIDI setup.

Have you looked at the FAQs on the Sonic Studios website? They show a couple older cases where removing a file and reinstalling their software has solved problems.

I was thinking Sonic Studios might also have a public forum for Amarra user interaction and some 'self help' on their website. They don't. However, they do offer a "Support Portal" but be prepared to pay for support with your credit card. I never liked these guys very much but that's another story.

Thanks for the help. This is my first Mac. I disabled the auto updates. Amarra is running. My next step is to contact their help line. I will also talk to my dealer who advised me to use Amarra. Thanks again for the well thought out help.

Channel D keeps the software current with ITunes and Mac OS well so far.
