i'd like to try the S/PDIF input in my M2Tech Young DAC; just curious...
so i don't want to expend much for just a try; anyone tried the below Chinese device?
any other similar, advisable converter for no more money? thanks!

best, paco

OK, $200 in audiophile terms is inexpensive and this one is much more than decent and yes, I have heard it in an exceptionally good sounding system.

And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass

I have not tried the unit in question but I would prefer one that has it's own power supply via wall wart or similar. That way you can use a USB chord with the power leg disabled so you can eliminate the noise that it generates. I have tried mine with USB power and with it's own power and the difference is quite obvious. I use a Yulong U18 which is a bit more expensive but works well.

Hi !
i have the one in the link and i like its sound,
I use it with a Teradak usb power supply, the cheap one.
But even when powered by the pc usb port is not bad at all.
Kind regards,
bg

The iFi Nano iDSD has Swiss army knife like capabilities with either a USB to RCA analog DAC output or USB to SPDIF digital capability. I use the SPDIF jack to connect to my DEQX Digital Calibration processor which doesn't have USB input capability.

thanks everybody! yet a further question..., posted on September 19, 2016 at 00:02:36

i'm going to try, definitely, but in the meantime a useful question: in case you tried both inputs (USB, SPDIF)
on the same DAC and system, what differences did you notice between them? thanks again!

best, paco
