my mobo has a L2 cache of 2x256kb and a L3 cache of 4MB in the guide section of cPlay discussing the buffer size he makes a distinction between L2 caches that are more than and less than 2MB in size. Then in the 2nd paragraph he first says "Tiny" buffer option offers lowest L2/L3 cache footprint enabling lower specification CPUs to be used with resampling." Then he says "The 2MB L2/L3 cache requirement remains to produce highest quality 192k output." So regarding the buffer size I should choose Tiny?
When discussing using the SRC 145.68db SNR he says "A minimum of 2MB L2 cache is required." Considering my configuration where does that leave me?

the cache is in the particular processor used. Some motherboards are dedicated to a particular processor, so it is hard to say what is optimal.

You should spell out your particular hardware configuration.

I've already identified that the RAM frequency can be a significant factor. I had a combination where sonic death was RAM operating at 1066 (which was the system default for the particular processor I used), but 1333 MHz was OK. Now I am running it at 1600 and 1866 even. So, it depends as there are a LOT of combinations to try and they can all yield different results.

CPU is i3-530 2 cores 1333 DIMM 1GB only 1 core assigned. Is that what you needed?
