My UpTone USB REGEN arrived late this evening around dinner time, and then we had company over so I didn't get to play with it much. I hooked it up and it works, but I haven't compared my system sound with and without it. More to follow probably after the weekend. In the mean time I wanted to see what it 'looks like' in the USB device tree and I was able to determine that the USB hub chip in the REGEN is made by SMSC. Maybe someone already discovered this. The screen shots below show the USB device tree on my Mac for my Ayre QB-9 DSD DAC without the REGEN and with the REGEN. Without REGEN With REGEN It's smaller than I expected as it sits on my calculator for relative size comparison The included power supply is pretty hefty and much larger than the REGEN Attached to my Ayre DAC USB port with a small box under the REGEN for support |

Is that a calculator...did you rob the Smithsonian? Talk about contrast old vs new.... |

It says not use them in series, only parallel. Doesn't seem to be how Inmates are using them. |
