Interested in your new iPower device. How much is it price wise? Also I bought an iFi usb device several months ago. Does it have this new power supply?

Thx for mentioning the iPower device.
Interesting. Let see what pricetag it has attached to it.

What makes me wonder is the 1uV "average audio band noise floor" specification.
Basically it says between 1-20kHz there'll be 1uV noise.
I'm wondering how it looks above the audio band.

The other question I'd have is, if iFi intends to compete against the "linear" audio power supply fraction in that area.

Not sure Thorsten would know what the USA pricing for the iPower will be, but I have sent a e-mail off to the iFi USA distributor to find out when and about how much it will be and will post back when I get a reply. There is also a new iDac (the iDac2) coming and a desktop iDSD Pro due out in the near future.

Have just heard back from James at Avatar. In the USA, the iPower will be around $50. Sounds like they will be available sometime next month, but I got no firm date.

Given that the current std power supply that comes with units like the iUSB is $30, I don't think they will be making it std kit on those items unless the price goes up on them a bit, but time will tell. Thorsten would probably better know the answer to that question.

Thorsten just told me - offline - that iFi explicitly mentions the low noise floor in the audio band, because that's much more difficult to address then the HF switching noise.
They'd of course cover the HF noise attenuation as well.
