I get my information from Discogs including album art. It's free. I've done more than 2000 and the only ones I have a hard time with are bootlegs and other unofficial releases. And it surprised me how often I can find concert posters or the bootleg covers on line to use as artwork.

As far as the other information goes the metadata that I get for CDs, automatically download when the CD is recognized, is more often than not what I expect or want it to be.

Regardless if you chose to download your metadata or not you probably want to find a good tag editor. I use MP3tag and it really is an essential tool.

I find Discogs really hit or miss on album artwork when it comes to quality. Have you ever tried

www.albumartexchange.com

Or

www.allcdcovers.com

There are several others specializing in artwork.

Looks like 2 great sites - thanks. Yes sometimes the artwork on discogs is not very good. Thanks!

Or try Google images. Lots of choices there.

The availability of high quality cover art on Google has really improved over the last year. I am just cautious of some of the links. iTunes cover art has also really improved but of course using Get Album Art in iTunes doesn't embed the artwork in the file but there are a couple of workarounds.
