Trisha is sounding real good. So does anyone else have, geez allmusic needs to upgrade the server, over to CDnow.....

Anita Cochran, Back to You.

Her first, yeah it's called 'country', like Linda Ronstadt's country, right? But much better than the Dixie Chicks (hear that Hype?).

Any others I've missed?

They say I'm too terse. & they're absolutely right. I feel I've come in on the middle of a convo @ the beginning of a thread?

All I can say is:
* Alannah Myles (s/t)
* LeAnn Rimes "You Light Up My Life"
* Shania Twain "The Woman in Me"
* Trisha Yearwood

Rod, try listening to a Lucinda Williams cd. I heard one and really dug it.

That "Alabama Song" video by Alison Moorer is tempting me to buy a disc by her.

Was just looking around at Amazon.com and learned that Shelby Lynne's real name is Shelby Lynn Moorer...she's Allison's sister.

Very good disc. Only a few truly outstanding songs, but no bad ones. Mostly mellow, slow tempo songs, quite a bit of pedal steel guitar and fiddle accompaniment. Has sort of an old-timey-ish feel to it. Love Allison Moorer's voice.

Not country at all, but have you ever listened to Marsha Ball? A bluesy kind of chick that can wail on the piano. I can recommend "Blue House".
