I had the pleasure of seeing this group at this vintage.

do you have the new Branford Marsalis disc?
He still has Jeff "Tain" Watts after all of these years.

I don't have the new Album. I can only take Kurt Elling in small doses these days. Branford has had Justin Faulkner with him for the past few years. Big talent. He has a different sound than Tain.

Yep, I dig Justin "time" Faulkner as well.
The Marsalis family is world-class and only plays w/ world class Jazz musicians.

GEO-

I need the name and contact for your local used CD shop/retailer. I had it at one time, link does not work anymore. Hope you are well and enjoying the Holiday Season.

Mr. Elling is a very fine Jazz vocalist, IMO.
I take all vocal Jazz in small doses as well. I much prefer Bop, Hard Bop,
Modal and the Avant Garde'.

I have some Kurt Elling that I really like...the live at Green Mill date is very good and a couple of others. He is so stylized that he runs hot and cold with me. As for the Marsalis family, I have been re-visiting Live at Blues Alley...its a burner.

Totally agree about KE. He does run hot/cold. World -class, no doubt.
An acquired taste, yes.

Yes I do. Not as much as the owner would like! He is dying up there.

Thanks for posting. I saw this very band as well, shortly after Crazy People Music came out. I've seen several other permutations as well--always a good time. Hope you are well.
