Has anyone here seen "Mozart in the Jungle"?

This is a TV series set in -- wait for it -- the classical music world (!) that is apparently starting its second season as an Amazon original series.
I guess with the nonstop sex, violence, intrigue, glamor, and in particular the smokin' hot piano and violin babes, that dominate all aspects of the classical music world, this was inevitable.
I'll take a look and report back when I get the chance.

Wow, had no idea and sounds intriguing. I wish I had Amazon Prime, but only Netflix here. nt, posted on October 20, 2016 at 19:28:12

Yes, I watched the first season and found it quite entertaining. It portrayed the interactions of orchestra members and a new phenom conductor based loosely on Dudamel as well as dynamics among conductor, orchestra board/funders and musicians. Much humor and charm. How realistic? You tell me.

Read the book - doesn't inspire me to watch the series. Know the building she lived in well. , posted on October 21, 2016 at 09:01:22
Some may be surprised at things that go on in the classical scene, and I'd guess the series exaggerates quite a bit. I didn't find the book very interesting and doubt other musicians would either. Hardly revelatory.

the music's not too shabby either.

The book? THAT sounds like a snore but as a series this works VERY well.

We are looking forward to the next season.

The Book is based on someone's actual experience, evidently.

Thanks for the tip. I think it's a great series. Accurate? Probably not, but fun, and that's worth something.
