I mentioned in a post here a few days ago that I recently bought a sizable LP collection from a coworker. The records, 800 to 1000 or so, belonged to him and many to his father. They come from all over the world, as the family lived all over the world depending on the father's work assignment. There are a lot of really great records there, about 200 or so keepers for me. Also lots of stuff I don't care about (when balanced against the cash it can bring) or I already have. And while the old man had some pretty good tastes, he also veered regularly into elevator land. Some of these discs were known to me already (visually anyway) from countless slogs through thrift shop piles. Others were not, and since the records are mostly in excellent shape, a few of these escalatorial sides will end up on eBay, despite their lack of explainable intrinsic value.

Flash back to my college years as a music student. One of my standing jokes is to sing/play rock/jazz/latin drums over classical music. I threaten to make a series of records called "Rockin' the Classics", "Thrashin' the Classics" (like "Rockin'", but with double bass drums), "Swingin' the Classics", and "Beat Boxin' the Classics". Fast forward to two nights ago and imagine my surprise when I discovered that some of these records were already made in the 1970's by.....Waldo De Los Rios!!! Oh, the humanity!

A good portion of the canon is now available on pristine vinyl in a single eBay lot. Taste buds not required--or advised, for that matter.

Just the one you understand, on an album called The golden Age Of Light Music: The Art Of The Arranger - Vol2.
You should/could/might try this with headphones...
