Has anyone bought the re-issue of Wrecking Ball by Emmylou Harris?
My son got his yesterday and it is sensational. For Emmylou fans it is a must have and any that aren't need to hear it and you will become a fan.
I believe it is vinyl only. Re-mastered and incredible.
Much improved in all the right ways. Background vocals, low level detail, bass presentation, all excellent. It is a three record set with several out-takes. I haven't listened to it all yet but from what I have heard I don't see how it could have been done any better.

One note though, be careful where you buy, do some searching as some online prices are almost robbery. I saw it priced as high as $280, my son got his for a small fraction of that.

Happy listening as always

I don't know about the reissue, but I have a UK pressed LP on the Grapevine label from '95, and the sound is absolutely stunning. Just a great album, all the way around. I remember buying this on a whim when it first came out. Acoustic Sounds was blowing them out for $7.99, which turned out to be a very lucky buy. It was a very limited pressing, and it is a very highly sought-after disc now. I got "A Cowgirl's Prayer" on a Grapevine LP at the same time. It's very good as well.

Looks like the going price on the RSD set is about $60. I might pick it up if I run into it.
