Can't say I knew Pete well, but I worked with him a number of times including some very enjoyable gigs with the Sam Jones Band. Nice guy, good player with a somewhat different sound. Pete worked with quite a few well known players such as Joe Henderson.

I know I've got him on some sides, but I'm not sure which ones. With the Buddy Rich band maybe?

First knew of him from the beginning of recordings he made with the Bob Mintzer Big Band on DMP. He had an individual sound and concept that set him apart from a whole bunch of other alto players. My ears always pricked up when I heard him solo.
