...who had a limited recorded repertoire by choice. At one time he acknowledged that he privately played most of the piano literature but only felt ready to record a limited amount. Would that more contemporary pianists be as selective in their recordings. What Moravec DID choose to record was superb. RIP Ivan.

I have a number of his Chopin recordings, and just recently picked up a new one. Need to give it a spin.

Very sad. Next to Richter he was my favorite Artist. Few recordings but if you see one grab it up. His Beethoven and Chopin are superb

Not especially prolific in studio or on stage, but certainly one of the masters at what he dud play and record.
