So maybe he could make more money auctioning autographs of his existing works. . . , posted on December 16, 2014 at 09:19:23

I think the price was driven by rarity... ., posted on December 16, 2014 at 11:14:01

In researching this, I was rather surprised to see so many guitars autographed by rock musicians that did not seem to be selling at much of a premium at all, until someone explained to me that people bring pick guards to concerts and then ask the musician to autograph the pick guard, and who knows, if it's a slow night, the guy might sign multiple pick guards for one guy, who goes home and puts them back on inexpensive guitars bought for the purpose.

So, that phenomenon has devalued the lower end of that market.

I saw someone selling on eBay digital printouts of a scan of an Eric Whitacre autograph. He was asking $27. So perhaps I should sell my Eric Whitacre autographed program?
