I just bought the Phase 4 box set ($200 at Amazon) for $89, shipped, from Amazon UK.

There appear to be similar good deals on some other box sets there.

Prestoclassical.uk also sometimes betters US prices on those box sets, despite the added shipping charges.

I agree with pbarach, Presto are sometimes cheaper, but not in this case. That set landed here would cost $AUD98 but at Presto, even on special, it is $AUD141 + freight.

Very tempting at that price but I've already got some + am unsure if I want yet another copy of the other war horses involved, good as they might be. They look inexpensive at around $2.50 per disc but if one already has many then the actual cost of new discs doubles and they start to look less of a bargain. However I will take the time to see how many I actually do have.

But please do not interpret the above as a put down of your post mbux01 - your note is appreciated.

I agree, one can sometimes find better deals on music from foreign sources. Not just UK, but other countries as well. Also, one can (must) sometimes find music available outside the U.S. that is not available from U.S. retailers.

However, I have found that generalization can be dangerous. Some things are less expensive or more readily available from U.S. sellers. That's especially true in countries that discourage purchases with foreign currency.

Amazon.uk (and other non-U.S. sources do sometimes offer music cheaper than U.S. retailers. There are other times when ordering from retailers outside the U.S. would cost you more -- and that includes Amazon.uk. So it's best to double cherck before buying

Was that easier to understand?

I've never had an actual return with a UK supplier, but. . . , posted on September 23, 2014 at 20:24:45

. . . there was one time a shipment from Presto Classical (in the UK) just didn't get here for a couple of months. I contacted Presto, and they were just about to send me a replacement copy of the title I had ordered (but had not received), when the original order showed up in my mailbox - it had evidently been held up in US Customs for some reason. Fortunately, I was able to contact Presto before they shipped the second copy.

Never had a problem with their shipment or packing.

I was wondering about if Amazon UK still honor a free return shipping from the US in case of defects.

Recently I've read a several UK audiophiles reported having to return defective Beatles Mono Box Sets.

I had a case of cracked plastic box on the CD set from a UK Amazon seller. When I reported a damaged box due to poor packing they actually send a new plastic case.
